After the Sunday worship in Prek
Thei, Joel and Grace, Soklin, Sokchan, Eunice and Sokin go to Takhmau for the
new outreach meeting.
The ministry was started a few
months ago in a friendˇ¦s home. However,
after a few times the mother-in-law did not like the meeting. Then, Sophat
Timothy talked to his mother-in-law, who is living in Takhmau. She is willing to
let us use a ground floor room every Sunday afternoon and Thursday evening for
$30 a month. Now Sophat and his wife also come to this afternoon outreach after
they finish the morning service in Kaoh Ksachtunlea West .
Joel and Grace are the leaders
in this outreach, Sophanny/Barnabas (Euniceˇ¦s father) is the assistant, and
Sophat and his wife attend the meeting. On this afternoon, Sophatˇ¦s
mother-in-law came to entertain us after the meeting. We shared with her some
testimonies, but she told us not to persuade her to believe right away, but to
give her some time.
This
house is next to the dormitory of a factory. However, most of the workers still have to work on Sundays. A workerˇ¦s
wife came to the meeting. While the adults were listening to Sophanny tell the
creation story, his daughter Eunice was telling Bible stories to the children at
the other side of the room. Though these two groups could hear and see one
another, it was so amazing that they were very attentive to their leaders.
Eunice is very clever. She
learned a handcraft from the medical team, which she now taught the children -
how to fold a piece of paper and then cut out a cross.
Soklin taught the children
simple English Bible Songs, and also used teaching English songs to attract the
children.
