Children story-Philip and Mark’s family Print E-mail

Philip and Mark are twins. They come from a  broken family in Prek Thei village. They live with their mother, brothers and sisters, and grandmother.  Their father ran away when they were very young, so their mother takes care of them.  When they were young boys, they received sponsorship from ICCM.  At that time, Mark didn't like the Christian religion. He didn't believe in Jesus Christ, but he wanted to learn English. So he went to church to learn English.  Daniel, one of the church youth leaders, taught Mark English. Mark felt the kindness and love from the Christians. He also observed the Christians' lives first hand. This changed his mind. He not only learned more English, but he also received Jesus Christ.

When Mark completed Grade 12, he continued to study in the university through an APFMMA scholarship. He followed Jesus faithfully. He has an enthusiastic heart to serve God,especially in children's & youth ministry. Last year, he graduated from university with a Bachelor of Sociology degree. Now he is working in a Christian organization - the Evangelical Fellowship of Cambodia.. He also helps the university boy's dormitory as supervisor.  He enjoys the job and serves God faithfully and joyfully. Philip and Mark are church leaders in the Cambodia Free Methodist Church.

In April,  Philip and Mark's mother believed in Jesus Christ at the Adult Camp. Although she cannot read the Bible,  she can learn from hearing the gospel. The Holy Spirit helps her to understand God's word.

After Mark's mother believed in Jesus Christ, the family has had great problems. Mark's younger sister, SreyBo, is one of the children in ICCM. In April this year, during the second day of young camp held at Prek Thei church, suddenly SreyBo felt abdominal pain for no reason. After consulting with the doctor, there was still pain.   Finally they found out that she was demon possessed.   This made all the family members worried, but they were aware that this was spiritual warfare. They prayed earnestly to Jesus Christ.

In early May, a younger brother of Mark and Philip had a traffic accident and his head was injured.  There was serious nasal bleeding. After treatment in the hospital,  the bleeding stopped. But Dach still had headache and could not see clearly. The doctor found that there might be a  tumor in the brain.   With the help of some Christians in Hong Kong, Dach was sent to a hospital in Vietnam for brain surgery. The doctors tried surgery through his nose, but it was unsuccessful. He is still waiting for another method to open the cranium for surgery.

Even though there are so many difficulties in Philip and Mark's family,  they stand firm to believe Jesus with faith. Pray for their family and give them support. Please continue pray for this family.
