Isaac
Isaac was in the House of Love in December 1998. Last year he finished high school. He is now studying management and computers at a college in Phnom Penh. We are thankful that his sponsor continues to support his college expenses. He brings some friends to the Phnom Penh Bible study group every Wednesday evening. On Saturday and Sunday he is helping in one of the village house churches. Sometimes he also helps the missionaries with interpretation. He wrote: "I never thought that I could have a chance for further study after secondary school. My life was so dark at that time. I thought I would just be a factory worker. When I learned that my sponsor would like to support me to study in college, I was very excited and nothing could compare in my life." Please pray for Isaac. He comes from a very poor family and his father is not yet a Christian and is very superstitious in idol worship.
San
San has two young brothers. His mother passed away, but his father does not want to have responsibility for them. San and his brothers were very desperate. His father brought them to Prek Thei to live with his uncle. But his uncle always ill treated them and did not want to take care of them, and they became orphans. San liked to come to the church, especially when the medical team came: he came every evening to join the team. One time a team member bought a Khmer drum and San liked to play it. We found out that he was really very gifted in this. When we started the House of Love, we found a sponsor for him. After that, he had enough food to eat and was happier. He is now in high school. He is helping with the children's group in one of our village house churches.
Sokann
Sokann's father was the first Christian in Prek Ksev, but he died because of a stroke. It was very difficult for a poor widow to take care of five little children. Sokann was the second daughter in the family and started studying in the primary school when she was ten years old. She was very happy in the House of Love because she could have three meals a day and many friends. She enjoyed studying in school and attending the church. Now she is a member of the worship team in Prek Thei Church. She is also one of the girls trained in the traditional cultural dance. When we have a celebration in the church or the district has any big celebration, she will participate in the performance.
