Now we are doing the fencing of the land:

  • Please pray for the money needed - about US$15,500. When the workers have finished one meter, we pay them the money. We will pay meter by meter.
  • Pray for the honesty of this building company and workers.
  • Pray that our missionaries and leaders have the wisdom to oversee this construction.

We are now hiring a local registered architect to make detailed blueprints of the missionary house and Amenity Building for our approval. The blueprints will cost US$7,500.

  • Please pray for the provision of the expenses.
  • Pray for the wisdom and honesty of the architect.

Please pray for God's provision for the huge construction costs of the different buildings.

The filling of the land is finished. Our missionary Paula wrote: "We have a problem because the actual expense for filling the land was more than the budget. The company has under- estimated it (as is always the case in Cambodia). So now, they keep on calling me for this. I don't think they will leave me in peace. The filling needs US$1,950.00 more."

There is a volleyball net on the land. Some people are using it as playground. This is the way in Cambodia. People can use any land that is not fenced for any use. Now we have to build a fence around the land. The estimation is US$30 per meter, and the total is about US$15,500.

If you want to give toward the building of fence, or the different buildings on the land, please download the brochure for details. Thanks.

April 7

Now we have US$28,846 (HK$222,560) in hand for the land. We need to pay the balance of US$49,000 by the end of May. We still short of US$20,154. Please pray for the Lord's provision.

April 5

By now it is about 50% completed. We have to leave the land there for at least a year until the soil is firm enough for the buildings. After the filling is finished we need to build the fence for security, otherwise people will come in and build a hut and live there and then can claim that they own that little piece of land. Please pray that can find an honest company for the fencing. Pray also for the Lord's provision for this project. Also remember our missionaries in supervising this big project. They need extra energy and time for this, and also God's wisdom and protection because they do not have any training nor experiece in construction. Please pray that God will send a missionary come to serve as "Ministry Center Building Project Manager / Supervisor". The construction of the "Ministry Center" is a huge project, at least 5-10 years.

March 29

We need to top up the land to avoid potential flooding. Filling of the land is in process. The first dirt arrived to-day.

March 4-5, 2002

Polly went to Cambodia with Mr. Kenneth Chan, an architect, and also the secretary/treasurer of APFMMA. We went for a site visit of the land. Some detailed building plans and schedules for the land with our missionary team were made.

February 9, 2002

We had sent US$60,000 to Cambodia already. Now we have US$16,000 in hand. We praise the Lord for the offering of the Hong Kong churches and brothers and sisters in US and abroad. We are short of US$28,000.

January 30, 2002

We signed the sale agreement and paid a deposit of US$5,000. We need to pay US$55,000 in February and then the rest by the end of May. You can see some of the pictures of the land here.

January 27, 2002

A special offering was collected in the Joint Sunday Service of the Hong Kong Free Methodist Church. We got a total more than HK$80,000 (slightly above US$10,000). We are so thankful for that as you perhaps know the economic of Hong Kong is fairly bad in deed in the past few years.

January 11, 2002

APFMMA decided to go ahead with the Extend Our Land Project.

December 25

The Land we plan for was sold to the government. The seller mentioned about another larger plot nearby.
