Asking
for Mountains
“Now
therefore, give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day; for you
heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great
and fortified. It may be that the Lord will be with me, and I shall be able to
drive them out as the Lord said.”
(JOSHUA
14:12)
Caleb's
faith in God never wavered, though everyone around him doubted. God convinced
Caleb that the children of
Israel
should enter the Promised Land, but the people were intimidated by giants and
fortified cities (Num.
13:28
-33).
When God was dividing the land among the Israelites, the people were asking
for the lush valleys and grassy plains. Caleb asked for a mountain. He longed
to see God work in power, and he knew he would be less likely to rely on God
if he dwelt in the easy places. He chose a situation in which he would have to
trust in God. Caleb knew his inheritance from God was on the mountain. He
refused to allow the difficulty of gaining it to stop him from enjoying all
that God had promised him.
Ministry Updates
The work in Kuiburi is still going on.
Some of the students are really interested in knowing Jesus more, they are
very open. I am beginning to know their personal lives and we pray after each
class. I am not sure that they understand my prayer, or everything that I
shared to them. But I know that I had planted a seed and confident that God
will guard those seeds.
Please
pray for strength both spiritually and physically and for sensitivity in the
leading of the Holy Spirit.
It's interesting to note that the
Friday group of people I am having Bible study with (for one month already)
can now sing English worship songs to God. There are twelve people that are
gathering in the dormitory every Friday night.
We sing songs, read a passage from the Bible and I would share and
somebody will translate and then we will pray.
Regardless of the difficulty of the language (it's sure a huge
barrier), I am managing. All by the grace of the Great I am. And most
important of all, some are opening up and I have the opportunity to minister.
Please
pray for Lampeung, a very good friend of mine here in Prachuap. She and her
husband had been attending the Bible study but they are not born again
Christian. Their marriage is in chaos. Lamp is planning to leave him and go
back to her old boyfriend. I've been counseling her for eight days now,
though I know nothing of marriage life. Last
month, she started telling me that she is bored and wants to leave her
husband. I did not give much attention because I thought she was just kidding.
But now she is seeing her old boyfriend without the knowledge of her husband.
I
already shared salvation to her so many times already. Please pray that she
will respond to God. Pray also for
me, for wisdom. I am very careful with my words every time I talk to her.
And God give me three chances to share
salvation to Don. He did not acknowledge his need of Jesus but he started to
listen to Christian songs. He borrowed some of my cd's. I know that God
minister through songs.
Please
pray that God will soften Don's heart. Pray also for the salvation of his
wife Note, she's a catholic.
