"Be still and know that I am God..." Psalm 46:10.

This is one of my favorite verses in the Bible. In times when I am hard pressed with a lot of things to do and a temptation to be lonely and wanting to be near my family, I remind myself of this verse. Many times I have recited this verse to the congregation before the pastoral prayer to comfort "us". I paraphrased this passage in Tagalog "Relax ka lang, Sagot Kita" (Just relax, I am here for you."- JESUS.) As you know, the members of the First Filipino FMC are 99.9% domestic helpers who are far away from their families and have many struggles such as a very demanding employer, an unfaithful spouse, a juvenile delinquent daughter/son, financial shortage, lost job and more. I have personally heard someone say (not just once): "I am very tired, I want to jump out the window." If you were her pastor, what would you do? Many times I have been broken by the ordeals of some of the members. It is because of your prayers that I have the strength to go on in the ministry, and that the desperate members were encouraged to trust Jesus in all circumstances. Your prayer is very much appreciated!

Please continue to pray for us...

  • pray for the success of the 40 Days of Purpose Spiritual Campaign Oct. 24 - Nov. 28, 2004 . Pray for all the team leaders and members who are very busy with the preparations. Pray that the goals of the campaign will be realized: Spiritual growth, multiplication of leadership & membership.
  • pray for the case of my son, Roldan Jr. regarding when he was stabbed last March 28. The first hearing was held October 5. May justice prevail. And please pray as he finishes his final exams this week.
  • pray for wisdom and strength for Kits as she leads the upcoming 40 Days of Purpose Spiritual Campaign.

Thanks again for being there for us.

Yours in Christ,
Kits
