The Executive Committee Meeting of Asia Pacific Free Methodist Missions Association was held in 30^th - 31^st December 2003 in Mumbai (Bombay), India

Those present were Rev Vallente Encarnado from the Philippines (Chairperson), Rev Timothy Lee from Taiwan (vice chairperson), Dr Narendra John from India as the deputy secretary (President, Asia Pacific FM Education), Rev David Yardy (Asia Area Director), Rev Polly Ho (Executive Director), Mr. Kunihiko Hirose from Tokyo, Rev Shirish Ahaley and Rev. Moses Arwade from India, and observer Mrs Ruth Tuan from the Philipines.

The following is the highlights of the meeting:

1 Representative and delegates

Since FMWM NA also have the representative on APFMMA, resolved to authorize the Area Bishop and Area Director of FMWM to name two delegates (1 ministerial and 1 lay) on the Executive Committee. Likewise, resolved to authorize Area Bishop to nominate two delegates for India to be on the meeting.

2 Follow up of APFMMA 10th anniversary celebration in each country:

• India Dec 30, 2003
• Cambodia Feb 29, 2004;
• Japan Conference May 30, 2004;
• Tokyo Early June 2004;
• Hong Kong Late June or Early July 2004;

3 Finance

APFMMA should take up more responsibility for a full time Executive Director's salary in the future and therefore a reserve fund be created from annual fees which is US$2,000. It was resolved to set aside 10% of APFMMA Project Income towards operational expenses.

4 Vietnam Ministry

Resolved to approve in principle the ministry to Vietnam and authorize the Executive Director in consultation with Rev David Yardy to go ahead with the above Project of Vocational Training

5 APFMMA is processing to be a Mission Agency.

The name is the same. The Manual is adopted and resolved to authorize Rev Polly Ho to redraft APFMMA Charter and circulate it to the members.

6 Mission Theology of APFMMA, Mission Congress, Asia Area Fellowship, General Council meeting and Executive Committee meeting in August 2005:

After much discussion, it was decided to have consultation on theology of mission on Asian perspective in conjunction with Mission Congress and Asia Area fellowship in August 2005, as well as APFMMA council meeting and Executive Committee meeting.

7 Next Executive Committee Meeting

Since the Executive Director, Rev Polly Ho will be visiting different countries for 10^th anniversary of APFMMA Celebration, she can meet with the Executive Committee members for consultation. There will not be an Executive Committee meeting in 2004 in lieu of this.
