My name is Christina Chan, but friends usually call me by my
Chinese name "Ching Man." I am very delighted to have the opportunity to serve
the Lord through the Free Methodist Church Missions Department and APFMMA. I am
a member of Yiu On Gospel Church, and was baptized in 1991.
I became a Christian when I was in High School. God has
always shown me His love and reaffirmed my value as His precious child. Soon
after I graduated from collage, my best friend worked as a secretary at our
church. Some years later, she responded to God's calling to be a missionary.
Her testimony touched me a lot. I found that the testimony of missionaries is
not only in books, but also in lives of people around me. Working for God is
not a fairy tale. It depends on whether we are willing to respond to God, "Yes,
Lord, here I am."
Later I had opportunities to join short-term mission teams to
the Philippines and India. These trips have broadened my horizons and allowed
me to experience God's power. It is great to have people from different
cultures interacting together. Now I am thankful that I have the opportunity to
take part in missions work. I pray for God's wisdom and energy.
Finally, I hope I can fulfill the command of the Lord and
will be able to say, "We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our
duty."
