The unaware growth like Spring
May the joy and hope of Easter bring up the spirit of our life to serve God and glorify His name.
We never know how a seedling grows but we can feel the life force when the right season came. It is like sometimes we may not aware how God changes our life through time. When I was back, God encourages me that I could see the ‘good' things in people's life.
The ‘harvest' of our pilot project in Korsachelea East church at the island
Two out of three of our mother pigs had given birth to 13 piglets. We sold some of them and a mother pig which brought us around $500+ p rofit in return. Now we kept some piglets and the two mother pigs that can ‘generate' more profit in future. Other than the monetary term, the church members especially our church pastor, Brother Gideon, was very excited. The feeling of success and accomplishment is the driving force to take the challenge ahead. Nevertheless, God rewards their hard labor and endurance also let them experience the very true of God's grace.
The positive attitude of our staff
Brother Meas is the clerical staff in our office for more than 3 years. During the devotion meeting last week, he shared that he went back to his home town to sit the Grade 12 exam so that he could get a formal certificate. In general, many people especially who had been working for years, they can just ‘buy' it with a ‘higher' fee instead of really taking the exam. However, he has an honest heart no matter how much ‘bad' influence around him in the exam. Centre. On the other hand, he really wanted to know his capability instead of just getting a certificate. I was encouraged by his positive attitude and the ‘right' way to do thing though we are not guaranteed to get a good result.
The mind of self supporting
Most of the time, when we organize programs for the young people or children, they may expect a full support like camping, outings, etc because of their limited financial resources especially at our childcare centre. Some sponsors are very kind to subsidize some money for their activities and we decide that they can have outing at remote provinces near the seaside. However, the expense of the bus rental is high as it is near the Khmer New Year time. The youth at one of our centers want to visit the farther province and they are willing to contribute the travel expense. Actually they don't have any money at all but they ask if they can sell their handicraft (coconut shell stuff) to our development project instead of asking from their parents or others. Poverty sometimes is an inside out attitude rather than the outside limitation. Prosperity is usually gained by giving and sharing instead of taking.
When we alert what God's done to the people around us, we are encouraged of whom we serve.
Prayer points
- Thank the Lord for His grace of resurrection in our life
- Thank the Lord for the construction progress of our school
- Pray for the safety in traffic during the Khmer New Year (usually the high toll rate in a year)
- Pray for the meetings with the graduates and God's timing to organize the fellowship
- Pray for my sister's health that she may have lung cancer after initial diagnosis. She may have an operation in the States. May God protect her faith in Him.
The desire of the righteous ends only in good, but the hope of the wicked only in wrath. One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.
