All Because of Him...

November 5, 2006, I arrived in Cambodia. Yes! It's because of Him- that's why I've survived, been able to handle uncomfortable situations and enjoyed many blessings and friends, and much more.  I just want to share with you a few of my experiences and how my Lord has demonstrated His love to me.

April 27. 2007, in Kampong Saom, we had our thanksgiving and evaluation of the youth camp.  My passport, wallet and cell phone were stolen from the guest house where we stayed.  Those valuable things were never recovered.  I thanked God for His comfort in times of troubles and for every individual who shared their blessings.

One evening at seven o'çlock, I was on my way going back home from the girl's dormitory.  I rode on a motodup (motorbike) when a stone was thrown at us.  It hit my motodup driver's head and hit me too.  Praise the Lord we both were using our helmets.  The motodup driver was looking back as he drove.  I told him to go straight and don't stop.  When I reached the house I could not open the gate because I was trembling.  I sat for a moment and cried before God, thanking Him for His covering mercy.

There was another time when my translator and I were waiting for a van going back to Phnom Penh.  a monk was sitting in front of me.  He heard me speaking Khmer with my translator.  He turned to me and asked me where I came from.  I was hesitant to answer him because I had informed that women/girls are not allowed to talk to monks.  My translator told me to talk to him.  So, I answered him in khmer.  we talked a lot about charity work, NGO's,education in Cambodia and religion.  PTL for the wisdom Gid gave.  Before the monk got off at his stop, he asked for my telephone number.Whew! Since,my translator allowed me to, I gave my phone number.  Days after, the monk called me.  We talked for an hour and a half- my phone was sowarm I thought it might explode!  I thanked God that I was able to share about the birth, death and resurrection of Christ.  The joy in me was immeasurable after sharing the gospel to a person whom I knew was difficult to be reached for the gospel.  Whether he understood and believed it or not, I believe that there's power in God's words.  I'm praying that the truth he had heard will be sealed by the Holy Spirit in his mind and heart.  I remembered 2 Timothy 4:2, to preach the Word, be prepared in season and out of season. PTL.

Cambodia Medical Mission Team

Jesus preached and taught, yes.  But He also healed every disease and sickness among the people.  His heart of compassion is for the people.

Novembr 2-4, 2009, a group of Christian doctors ,nurses and pharmacists from Hong Kong and Australia came to Kampong Cham to hold a free medical-dental clinic.  They served at two villages-(Kampong siem and Blang).  There were more than three hundred villagers who came.  Before the clinic started, paster Sila preached about salvation.  Many raised their hands for Jesus.  The Kampong Cham young people formed groups lto pray for every person after they received their medicines.

After the free clinic, we were able to start a children Sunday School in Kampong siem, and two young people joined the worship in Blang.  This time with the young people of the church, I'm visiting those who raised their hands for Jesus.Praise the Lord, for His Power and Love.

School Project in Phnom Penh Thmei

The ground breaking of the new schoo; in Phnom Penh Thmei was held November 13, 2009.  It was attended by our local pastors, missionaries, the Hong Kong and Cambodian school boards, and the village leader.  The village leader said he is happy that there will be a school nearby and it won't be difficult for the children to get there.  Praying that our school will be a blessing to the village.  This will open next school year.

New Missionaries and New Pastors

Dr. Paul and Grace Wong and their children King-Ho and Rainbow, recently arrived in cambodia as missionaries under OMF.  Dr. Paul Wong has been a member of FMC- Hong Kong mission board and has been on the Hong Kong medical missions teams to Cambodia since they started.  Joining the medical teams gave him the burden to serve the Khmer people.

Shahane Bravo, a Free Methodist church member from the Philippines is here.  She will be here as a tent maker.  She's applying at Royal Ratannak and Sen Souk (IU) Hospital as a nurse.  Presently, she's living with me and helping me in kampong Cham on weekends and with the gorl's dormitory.

This year, there are three young people who just finished Bible school.  Sophanny  (son of Pastor Barnabas), Sila and Samnang.  Sophany and Sila both graduated from Phnom Penh Bible school, and Samnang from the Wesleyan Bible Institute.  These three new pastors are now handling churches; Phnom Penh, Kao Ksachtunlea East, and Kampot rerspectively.
