February, March, April are traveling months.
- l February 22 - March 10 to Cambodia, for missionary retreat, training, and meetings ----
About 80 Free Methodist missionaries in Asia and their children gathered together for a retreat in Siem Reap, Cambodia. I was much refreshed and encouraged by the messages and fellowship. We shared our experiences, needs, challenges and prayer requests.
After the missionary retreat we had leadership training for the leaders in South East Asia, mostly from missions districts. For Esther, it was the first time to attend an FM gathering. She has been working in the FMC for more than ten years. She shared with me, "In these past years I worked by myself and I had to trust God all the time. This is the first time that I feel I am belonging to the big FM family, with so many co-workers. I am so excited, encouraged and confirmed. I am so thankful that many people are praying for our church."
After the retreat, the leaders and missionaries went back to their mission fields. Then I continued to stay in Cambodia to attend the annual meeting and have other meetings with our missionaries and church leaders. It was a bit tiring to have meeting after meeting, but we were refreshed spiritually. In the Cambodia FMC annual meeting, I could feel the prayerful hearts and unity among the local pastors, leaders and missionaries. Pray that they will fix their eyes on Jesus.
On the way to the airport for departure, I visited our missionaries Joel & Grace. I found that I had left the power cord for my laptop computer in Miu Ling's apartment, where I stayed. But there was not enough time to go back to get the cord. At that moment, Josephine came in to visit Joel & Grace, because she saw that the gate was open. Josephine said that she would go back to Hong Kong two days later. At that moment, we all praised God. Josephine could bring back the power cord for me. God is so wonderful !!
- l March 22 - April 16 to Macau, helping in a "cross culture training camp" for missionaries ----
This is a 4-week training for missionaries who will go to mission fields soon. There were eight missionaries from different mission agencies. One day we went out for street evangelism in a tourist spot. I was so amazed to see tourist buses come and go with big crowds of tourists. We sang songs in the street, distributed gospel tracts and CDs, and shared the gospel with the on-lookers. I had a deep feeling of what Jesus said, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few."
- l April 21 - April 28 to Malaysia, attending a prayer camp and missionary retreat, and visiting ----
I am looking forward to visiting our FM church and pastor in Malaysia after the prayer camp and retreat.
A missionary family was sent to Cambodia last August. The couple are experienced physicians. They are now gathering some other missionaries who are dentists and physicians from other mission agencies to pray for God's guidance for partnership in starting a medical ministry.
Life should be full of dreams. If there are no dreams, there will be no work. If there is no work, there will be no dreams. Let us have the same attitude as William Carey: "Expect great things from God. Attempt great things for God." HE is able!
