Days in our life are not always sunny, but will have showers, heavy rain or typhoon and storms. But it is a blessing in days like these, FRIENDS LIKE YOU holding an umbrella walking along side with me.Moreover, Our Heavenly Father is always opening the way for us, protecting, holding and leading us with His loving hands.
It is your prayer and concern make things easier, and brings speedy recovery for my surgery. When I was in the hospital, most of the time, I was told to “fast”, but had injection to give me strength. Therefore I took it as a kind of “fast and prayer”, but often I fell asleep. When I woke up, I prayed again for church, APFMMA Mission Congress in coming August, Cambodia, Myanmar, missionaries, mission fields, Hong Kong, etc. and many people, and YOU.
On the first two days in the hospital, I read the Bible, God comforted and encouraged me with His promises.
“ The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.” (Duet 33:27)
“ Do not be afraid … for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”(Joshua 1:9)
Gall bladder, tiny stones, and gall duct
If you have stomachache for a long time and the medicine does not seem to help, please go to have ultrasound for your gall bladder and liver to see if there are any problems.
Emergency case
I have stomachache for a long time. This is a fact. On 30th January I went to see doctor for stomachache. She told me to have ultrasound for gall bladder and liver, and blood test. The outcome was -- the gall bladder and gall duct were filled with numerous tiny stones. The gall duct was infected and affected my liver so much, with enzymes 5-10 times more than normal. The doctor advised me to go to hospital for emergency treatment immediately, otherwise my liver would be damaged.
4 operations within 6 days
I was thankful that a Christian doctor in a very good government hospital admitted me immediately as emergency case on the same day 30th January.Within five days I had three operations to take the stones from my gall duct, because the tiny stones kept falling out.In the 3rd operation, the surgeon had put an “artificial duct” to direct the tiny stones from falling into the real gall duct.He arranged me to come back to take out the gall bladder in June, or I could do it earlier in a private hospital, which would be quite expensive.
Finally on 4th February the surgeon decided to do the 4th operation to take out the gall bladder, though I still had fever, infection of gall duct, and low blood pressure; and would have some risk. Then I remembered the promises of God: “Do not be afraid … for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go – even in the operation room. And God is also with the surgeon and the whole team. His everlasting and loving arms are underneath you.”In God’s mercy, it was a successful operation. After the operation, the surgeon told me, “It is not a gall bladder, but a ‘sand’ bladder! ”
Our Heavenly Father is good, friends are caring
I am thankful for the provision and protection of our Heavenly Father.Although I could not celebrate Chinese New Year at home with my father, many friends came to see me in the hospital even in New Year time. They brought Christian love, blessings, prayers, fruits and flowers. My assistant came to see me everyday with newspaper and encouragement emails from friends. The Christian doctor and a member in our church working in this hospital came to see me a few times everyday.
Come home and rest
After I came home, some sisters came to cook for me, and went to market to buy food for me.I was so moved by their love. But last week, I had fever for a few days so that I went back to the hospital for a few days. This Monday I am staying home and rest.I have good appetite and gain back energy. And the weather is warmer and sunny so that I take a walk in the park, and walk slowly across the street to the supermarket to buy some food.
