Jesus loves India Print E-mail

In the last trip in August 16 to September 7 traveling to Thailand , Cambodia and India , as I recalled, this was the first time that I had homesick and wanted to go home so badly, though I was traveling with a group.

Jesus listens to prayers even though I am silly

I came back to HK a day earlier. I was so silly that I got mixed up with the dates in India . I had traveled to many places. I did not know exactly what date it was. On the 7th September I went to the Mumbai Airport ( India ) to leave for HK. When I checked in, the lady told me the ticket was for 8th, the following day. I came a day earlier !! I took back the luggage and thought what should I do and where should I stay for the night. May be stay in the airport for a day. It was about 8:30 p.m. But the lady manager was so kind to offer to help me to change the date because the airplane was not so full. Praise the Lord. It is good to be home after 24 days traveling.

Jesus cares for my stomach

I enjoyed the food in India this time. There were more choices in the restaurants now. I could order Chinese food which was delicious and not hot and spicy. Hot and spicy really hurts my stomach. Praise the Lord that I did not need to take the medication for my stomach in this trip.

Jesus uplifted the persecuted

Moti is the pastor in the Mathikeri Church . He went to church when he was a young boy. He attended Sunday school. When his parents knew he went to church, they stopped him because they were all Hindu. But young Moti insisted to go to Sunday school in the church. His parents beat him and drove him away from home.

Young Moti was very desperate. He lived in the street. He wanted to die. Then he heard Jesus talking to him to be strong. He went to the church again. Pastor Saga helped him and encouraged him. Young Moti could finish high school. After that he committed himself in full time ministry. He graduated in the Bible School .

Moti had been praying for his parents' salvation for many years. One day his father called him and asked to come home. To his surprise, his parents said, " Our dear son, we are sorry to drive you out of the house. We can see Jesus is great and has done wonderful works in you." Jesus is wonderful and nothing in Him is impossible. His parents' hearts were softened through all those years. Moti' s mother now is a woman of prayer. His father composes songs for the church. He always says, " Once I was a sinner, but now I am a singer for Jesus."

Jesus "lifted" His people

In the last three days in India we stayed in a hotel by the seashore in the very south end of India . From my room I can watch the tide coming and going, and listen to the soft whisper of the wave at the seashore. It was so peaceful and a charming song of the sea. Who could imagine that these wave nine months ago was so angry and rough, roaring and hitting against the seashore, making such a historic disaster to thousands of people. The wave came in a sudden, higher than the lamppost and washed away houses, churches, strong bridges and thousands lives, left behind vast destructions, broken families and orphans. The tsunami in last December was a disaster to thousands of people in the very south end of India .

When the tsunami came, it was about 10 o' clock in the morning. The church was having Sunday worship. The sanctuary and the worshippers were caught in the tsunami to be with their Savior Jesus, left behind the doorway and alter. But some fishermen survived in the tsunami were scared and did not want to go fishing.

Jesus cares for the desperate and orphans

The Free Methodist Church has preaching point and contacts in the tsunami area. The church had moved out about 30 children to live in our "temporary" hostel with other children in another area, where the Childcare Ministry in India has bought a piece of land to build a permanent hostel, which will hold 200 boys and girls. When we visited the "temporary" hostel these children were very happy to have a home, food to eat and Christian "parents" . They go to school with the other children. They now can memorize some Scripture and know Jesus loves them.

Jesus is "living water"

They tried to drill a well on the land but there was no water. The neighbors told them there were too many stones and they also did not succeed in drilling wells in this area. The children and dorm parents prayed for water. Jesus is the living water. When they drilled again, there was water! It has been many months now, the well is full of good water. The neighbors are so amazed and say it is Jesus does this. Praise the Lord.

Jesus' promises

"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up......I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland." (Isa. 43:19). "For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants." (Isa. 44:3)

"Whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. The water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." (John 4:14).

Come and taste and you will see His grace and power "The water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." (John 4:14). , our Lord Jesus is the spring of living water.
